Fnu Mahipal

Mahipal was born in India. He received his M.Sc. in Chemistry in 2008 from Guru Jambheshwar University of Science & Technology, Hisar, India. Upon successful completion of his Master’s degree, he joined the Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine(IIIM)/University of Jammu, Jammu, India where he obtained his Ph.D. in Synthetic Carbohydrate Chemistry in 2016 with Dr. Ram A Vishwakarma. In the Fall of 2016, he joined the Krishnamurthy Lab at the Scripps Research Institute as a postdoctoral researcher where his fellowship is funded by Center for Chemical Evolution (CCE), Georgia Tech. In his free time, Mahipal loves to watch games and movies.

Research Interests:
My major research interest focuses on the synthesis and biological functions of carbohydrate molecules. In Krishnamurthy lab, I am working on understanding the role of polysaccharides/carbohydrates in chemical evolution involving fundamental chemistry. In addition to that, I am also interested in synthetic methodologies based on C-H activation/functionalization involving functionalization of bioactive molecules.
