Zhao Li

I was born in Tianjin, China in 1982. I graduated with a BS degree in chemistry from Nankai University (China) in 2005 and obtained my double Ph.D. in organic chemistry from Nankai University and Utah State University in 2012. I started to work in Georgia Tech as a postdoctoral fellow in Prof. Charles Liotta’s research group in 2013, and then promoted to Research Scientist I in 2016. My personal interests include cooking, traveling and reading.

Research Interests: 
I am currently working for the CCE Proto-Polysaccharides project, including (1) prebiotic pathways to linear sugars and sugar acids via glyoxylose reaction and (2) prebiotic routes from sugars and sugar acids to oligo- and polysaccharides. Meanwhile, I am also partially involved in the Aerosols and Proto-Polypeptides projects.
