I am an undergraduate student at Furman University and am planning to graduate in 2019 with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry. I became involved with the CCE in the summer of 2017 through my undergraduate research experience working in the laboratory of Dr. Greg Springsteen. Upon graduation I hope to pursue a graduate degree in chemistry. My personal interests include traveling and cooking.
My undergraduate research project focuses on elucidating mechanistic pathways for the origins of modern metabolites, specifically pyruvate. We believe that an understanding of these pathways can lead to a broader understanding of the origins of modern metabolism.
